LIKES:[/b]
Painting and drawing, reading books, baking, watching the floating lanterns in the sky, finding hobbies to do, seeing the world outside of her tower, cute things, her chameleon Pascal, the colors pink and purple, using a frying pan as a weapon
DISLIKES:[/b]
Being confined to her tower, or any one place. Insects and large bugs, poison ivy, quicksand, creepy or dangerous places and rough and ill-intending people, being scared, people knowing about the powers her hair has, being completely on her own or alone, being lost, being told what to do.
FEARS:[/b]
That people will come after her and try to use/sell her hair. Ruffians and thugs. That her dreams won't turn out to be what she thought they were. That she will upset her mother by her decisions and break her heart. She also fears all of the over-exaggerated dangers that her mother has warned her about (men with pointy teeth, poison ivy, quicksand, the plague… etc).
PERSONALITY:[/b]
Rapunzel can be kind, playful and cheerful but a little naive in personality from having been sheltered inside of a tower all of her life. She tends to jump into things without really thinking much about them. She can also be gullible, as she doesn't know what much of the life outside of her tower is like and whom to trust. Rapunzel grew up being very obedient to Mother Gothel and trusting that Mother Gothel loved her and only wanted what is best for her. Due to Mother Gothel's play on her emotions, hidden insults and pointing out of Rapunzel's flaws to keep her from leaving the tower (such as telling her she can be immature, clumsy, naive, vague, sloppy, underdressed, chubby…), Rapunzel can be a bit self conscious at her worst times. She is very afraid of breaking her mother's heart and nervous of disobeying her, though she knows being in a tower is not something she wants to do.
She is also very creative and multi-talented, and can occasionally show signs of a more independent, bold side of her that is not always seen. She is determined to prove that she can handle herself and that she doesn't need her mother to shelter her and keep her from her dreams and from living her life.
HISTORY:[/b]
Before Rapunzel was born her mother, the queen, became very sick. The only thing that could cure her was a magical golden plant that had grown from a drop of sunlight. Mother Gothel had been hiding the plant away and using it to keep her young by singing a song to it that would release its abilities, but soon the kingdom found the plant and took it, using it as medicine to heal the queen. When Rapunzel was born, she was born with surprisingly golden hair, which was very unlike her dark-haired parents or anyone in the kingdom. Mother Gothel knew that Rapunzel's hair now contained the flower's healing abilities, and so one night she came to use it for herself. She tried to cut Rapunzel's hair, but discovered that her hair could not be cut, or else the power would be lost and the strand would turn its natural dark brown color. She kidnapped Rapunzel from the King and Queen and locked her in a tower, hidden from the kingdom. Rapunzel was just a baby at the time , and does not remember any of this. She was raised thinking that Mother Gothel was her real mother, and though she learned about her hair's magical healing abilities, she did not know that Mother Gothel was only using her for her hair and thought that her singing was only helping her. Mother Gothel explained to Rapunzel when she was growing up that the reason she could never leave the tower was so people did not try to use her for her hair and kidnap her. Rapunzel believed her, and believed that Mother Gothel loved her and was looking out for her. Because her hair could not be cut or it would lose power, Rapunzel's hair grew out to an extraordinary length over the years until it was so long that she could use it to help lift Mother Gothel up into the tower. Rapunzel spent most of her life sitting in the tower and finding hobbies to do such as reading books her mother brought her, painting all of the walls and ceiling of the tower, baking, learning how to play instruments, playing games, cleaning, sewing, learning astrology and doing other things to pass the time and keep her entertained. She became aware of the floating lanterns that were lit up in the sky on her birthday every year, and they were her favorite things to watch. She made it her dream to go and see them one day and find out what they were.
Then, when she turned eighteen, everything started to change. She finally gathered up the nerve to ask Mother Gothel if she could go see the lights for her birthday, and Mother Gothel of course refused, and tried to scare Rapunzel into staying in the tower. Rapunzel believed her, and promised she wouldn't leave.
Then one day, a man named Flynn Rider broke into her tower after being chased down by palace guards for stealing the Lost Princess's crown. Rapunzel used a frying pan to knock him out to defend herself, thinking that he had broken in because he had heard about her magical hair. She found out that that wasn't the case, and hid his stolen crown, promising him that he would give it back only if he took her to see the floating lanterns.
When she left the tower for the first time, things were alarming, and yet exciting at the same time. She was beside herself with excitement, but at the same time torn about the fact that she was betraying her mother and that her mother might be devastated. Flynn tried to talk her out of going, but she couldn't give up on her dream of seeing the lanterns, and so she refused to go back regardless.
Rapunzel was also frightened by what she saw outside of the tower though. She was half-expecting ruffians, monsters and thieves to leap out at her everywhere she went. When they went into the Ugly Duckling, she met all of them face to face, and it was beyond terrifying at first. However, after speaking to them she found out that not all of them were so bad, and had dreams of their own they had never accomplished. They helped her and Flynn escape after the palace guards came by searching for them.
Rapunzel and Flynn were just taking the path to join in the festivities near the castle before going to see the floating lanterns. Suddenly though, she was placed in this strange world, which is completely different from her own. She still hasn't discovered who she really is or the ill-intentions that Mother Gothel has, and at the moment is concerned with finding Flynn Rider again, or at the least to figure out where she is and what is going on. How could she suddenly disappear right before she was about to live her dream, and appear in this strange place?

(This is a random excerpt from a Harry Potter RP I was on, and it was basically a nightmare my character was having XD)
Keira walked alone across the grounds as the sun had started to set behind the trees of the Forbidden Forest. The warm orange light that was bathing the grass started to slink away, leaving the field cold and dark as she stepped. She didn’t remember walking out here or why, but it seemed natural, as if she had planned it before.
The girl looked around, scanning the area, and glanced back at the Hogwart’s castle. It was dark, and the grounds were empty. She realized with a sinking feeling that she could hear nothing but the wind rustling the dry leaves. Even the moon wasn’t out to shine comfortingly. There weren’t any stars either… she tilted her head back to peer up at the sky. Nothing but black…
Suddenly she spun around in alarm as a series of sharp snaps came from the Forbidden Forest behind her, echoing sickeningly through the silent grounds. Frantically she grasped her wand and whipped it out, pointing it into the trees. The darkness seemed to be sinking into them to form a pitch-black cover of shadows, and then it grew to blot out what was left of what she could see. She was completely submerged in darkness… Panic surged through her as she whipped her wand from one point to the other, unable to see an inch in front of her face. It was like the night had swallowed her up somehow and left her standing in the middle. What was going on? It never turned dark this fast, and there was always some sort of light! She turned towards the castle, expecting to see the windows warmly lit, but there was nothing visible. It was like everyone had left…
There were more cracking noises behind her and she could feel her heart pounding as she whipped around with her wand extended. She couldn’t see what it was; it was going to kill her for sure! Lumos the Slytherin girl muttered, her voice breaking a little. There was a red light emanating her wand, growing larger and larger until the whole field was lit up in the blood-red color. How did that happen?
Suddenly there was a figure there, standing in the field only a couple of feet in front of her. It was a taller form of a boy with scruffy hair, but she couldn’t his face. She backed up a few steps as he remained motionless, There was something really off about him... Maybe it was the dark red lighting that casted shadows over his face, or maybe it was because he stood silent and still, like a statue, but was facing her direction.
Keira forced to remain calm as she spoke up, “What are you doing here?! Go away!”
In a heartbeat the figure raised his head and seemed to be staring at her. The wind picked up and blew around her coldly as she stepped back again with her eyes intently locked on him. They narrowed in hostility as the figure refused to move. “Leave!”
The command seemed to echo through the crimson colored field, then was followed by an eerie silence.
